Hey everybody, I know it`s been awhile since my last post. Now I`m back ,and I`ll be posting more frequently (hopefully). Alright, let`s talk about some music. It`s been a pretty good year for post-hardcore music, all alternative music even. Today I`m gonna talk about albums for the most part.
First off I`ve gotta talk about Emarosa, who released their third studio album "versus" this past September. With new singer Bradley Scott Walden (formerly of Squid the Whale). This is a wonderful album from top to bottom. Walden is a great frontman with his own flair while at the same time keeping that familiar sound.
Next up is a band that I just discovered this year Pvris (pronounced Paris). Pvris is a three piece that released their first album White Noise this past November. They mix rock with electronic making it really hard for me to find their sub-genre, which isn't a bad thing. The best part is they re-recorded most of the songs "acoustically" in the empty room sessions. So if your looking for a really good album to fill your zune, I highly recommend them.
Next is an album I've been waiting four years, Devil from Chiodos. This is the bands fourth studio album, which is quite a feat in their genre. This is one of my favorite albums of this year. They still sound exactly the same from when they started in 2001, and I love it.
Then we have an album I have mixed feelings about, Punk Goes Pop Vol.6 from Fearless records. Alright I'll admit there's a few good songs from some ok bands, but this isn't even punk anymore. They should rename it Hardcore Goes Pop.Which isn't a bad idea, but don't pretend your something your not. When you see August Burns Red covering Wrecking Ball you should take a minute and ponder.
Alright that's it for now. I hope you guys check out these great albums, and as always don't hesitate to send feedback. Like I said I'll be sure to put more time into this, and post more frequently. Until next time.
